WA Treasurer, Hon Rita Saffioti MLA handed down the 2024-25 Western Australian State Budget on Thursday, 9 May 2024. A $3.2 billion operating surplus is expected in 2023-24 with a $2.6 billion surplus forecast for 2024-25. 

As part of the 30 June 2024 annual reporting, public companies will now have to prepare a new consolidated entity disclosure statement. 

The consolidated entity disclosure statement will be required by all public companies (both listed and unlisted) who are required to prepare annual financial reports under the Corporations (Act 2001). It will apply to those companies whether or not they prepare consolidated financial statements.

As the clock ticks towards a greener future, the Australian Government has announced a tax concession to small businesses aiming to reduce their carbon footprint and slash energy bills. The Small Business Energy Incentive, a measure announced on 30 April 2023, is specifically tailored to assist businesses with an annual aggregated turnover of less than $50 million.
